Why Lochran
Lochran comes from the Scottish Gaelic lóchrann, meaning a lantern or guiding light.
A lóchrann is carried.
It moves with you.
It illuminates your surroundings.
That idea sits at the heart of our work.
Lochran Leadership exists to bring clarity to complex leadership moments, tough conversations, important decisions, and tense situations. Our work helps leaders navigate those moments with judgment, steadiness, support and accountability for their impact.

The Pattern Beneath Most Leadership Challenges
After two decades working with senior leaders, partners, and executive teams, one pattern shows up again and again. Most leadership challenges are not caused by a lack of intelligence, ambition, or effort. Challenges emerge when capable people are operating inside complex systems without enough space to see themselves, each other, or the impact of how leadership is landing.
People are moving fast. Pressure is constant. Expectations are rarely explicit. In that environment, leaders may default to habits that once served them well but now limit trust, alignment, and momentum. Lochran Leadership exists to create the space where leaders can slow their thinking without losing momentum and make more conscious choices about how they lead.
Leadership challenges aren’t caused by a lack of intelligence, effort, or ambition. They’re caused by a lack of clear seeing.
Law firms and professional services organizations do not need more frameworks. They need leaders who can bring clarity into complexity, discernment into tension, and stability into moments where others feel reactive or uncertain.
How This Shows Up In The Work
The Modern Reality
Leaders often come to us when results look strong on paper, but something underneath feels misaligned. Decisions take longer than they should. Trust feels fragile. Teams are performing, but not together. Energy is spent managing friction, rather than making progress. .
Our work is not to tell leaders what to do or who to be. It is to hold the light steady so patterns become visible and leaders spot the gap between their intention and their impact. Better decisions follow naturally, because they’re grounded in clear seeing rather than urgency, fear, or assumption
When the situation is complex, the stakes are real, and the conversation requires care.

THE HUMAN BEHIND THE HEADSHOT:
Jac McNeil founded Lochran Leadership on a firm belief: leadership is deeply human and profoundly consequential. For more than 25 years, she has partnered with senior executives, C-suite leaders, and leadership teams to strengthen how they lead in complex, high-stakes environments, especially inside global law firms where pressure is constant and trust is a measurable asset.
Jac is known for her rare combination of warmth and precision; she earns trust quickly through depth, discernment, and honest observation. Her work helps leaders see themselves more accurately, and make choices that improve execution, and culture, not just in the moment, but in the way the organization functions over time.
As one of a small percentage of coaches worldwide to hold the International Coaching Federation’s Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential, Jac brings depth of mastery and a track record of outcomes leaders can feel and teams can point to. She integrates leadership science with human insight, helping leaders expand strategic clarity, emotional intelligence, and sustainable performance under real constraints.
Her approach is evidence-informed and deeply practical, blending robust assessments such as the Leadership Circle Profile™ 360 and the Integrative Enneagram iEQ9 with high-impact coaching methods that translate into behavior change. The result is not “better intentions,” but better leadership: clearer direction, stronger trust, healthier conflict, and more consistent follow-through.
Clients describe Jac as candid, steady, and deeply attuned. They come to her when the cost of misalignment is high, and when they need leadership growth that is both human and measurable, lasting well beyond the engagement.
